5 Unique Ways To Date Your Spouse Without Leaving Home

A huge challenge thanks to the pandemic is how difficult dating is for married couples since going out and enjoying your time has literally become a thing of the past. But a great piece of marriage advice is to try and make the most out of any opportunity.

That’s what I am doing, and what I encourage everyone to try out. With that being said, I created a list with some interesting and fun ideas on how to date your spouse during COVID without leaving home.

This post is all about how to date your spouse.

1. Enjoy a backyard movie night

If you have the means to set up a movie in your backyard, this is a fun idea to date your spouse without leaving home. During quarantine, this is a major way that helps you stay safe and enjoy your time with your true love.

I’ve been dabbling into the idea of backyard movie nights and I can say it’s totally worth it. Yes, it does require a bit of preparation, but I find it to be incredibly fun and enjoyable.

And even if you do not have the equipment to set up a projector in the backyard, join forces with another couple who does (of course, after sharing negative COVID results).

You’ll still enjoy the comforts of home, and save money being able to date your spouse with the added conversation being on a double date right in your backyard (literally!).

2. Hire a personal chef

A great piece of advice for married couples is to always enjoy every moment they can. I recommend hiring a personal chef for your date night because it makes it easy to enjoy some great food and just have fun for a change.

Not only that, but having a personal chef over opens you up to new culinary experiences, and it can lead to an unforgettable night.

This was my gift to my husband on the first Valentine’s Day in quarantine. I found an amazing and friendly personal chef on Thumbtack.

My husband had no idea, but as our at-home date night drew closer, he was skeptical about who I was secretly texting. But, when the day came, he was very surprised and laughed when he saw two complete strangers cooking a full meal complete with dessert in our kitchen.

3. Staycation

Having a staycation is actually a great date your spouse idea that also keeps both of you safe. I recommend trying out a staycation because you get to enjoy your home and your city a whole lot more.

From simple things like using your pool for a quick party, attending a local event that’s limited to just a few entries and so on is always a great idea. It also helps you save some money too.

Admittedly, we probably celebrate staycation a little too often (even prior to COVID). Nonetheless, when we lived in Florida, we did venture beyond our own four walls and have staycations within Central Florida (because that counts, right?).

4. Host a board game night

You can play some board games online with your friends and stay in touch via apps like Zoom.

Sure, it’s not the same as having them over (You can have them over if they had a Covid test and it’s all good), but a virtual experience is the next best thing.

There will be lots of great moments to enjoy, and you are bound to enjoy every moment here. That’s what makes it so much fun and interesting.

Having children honestly makes this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, if you’re successful enough to maintain and keep track of the board game pieces.

I cannot tell you how many nostalgic board game nights we have had where all of the pieces ended up as a dog chew toy or in the girls’ dollhouse.

But, game nights are hands down one of the easiest in terms of preparation and one that is guaranteed to leave you both with hilarious (and even, competitive) memories.

5. Try out a mixology night

What this does is require you to prepare your own drinks using various mixology recipes. The fun comes from trying to replicate those recipes the best way that you can.

I can say this is a whole lot of fun, and you will find yourself enjoying the entire process with your loved one.

Marriage can be fun all the time, years into it if you know how to enjoy every opportunity. Listen to the marriage advice for married couples and just make the most out of every moment.

It’s definitely not simple to do at first, but the benefits can indeed be second to none. That’s why you have to adjust and implement everything accordingly, and the outcome can be second to none.

We’ve actually had a board game night via Zoom and it was surprisingly fun. Lots of laughs were had and we plan to do it again soon.

If you have a great relationship with your parents you can even host a gathering with just you guys and them. We did this, we ordered food from a fancy place 🙂 and it was such a great night for all of us. Of course this can also be done with some good friends.

And yes, if you have a projector and a good sound system, a movie night will be an awesome experience!

My husband was SO surprised when I hired a personal chef. That has to be my favorite date night idea, to date.
