A Postpartum Self Care Routine for New Moms

postpartum self care

Postpartum self care doesn’t have to be difficult as long as you have the right tools and resources.

Because you and your body deserve the best, without the stress.

As women and mamas, our bodies need continual care and comfort.

That includes before, during, and after the birth of our little ones.

This post is all about postpartum self care.

postpartum self care

We know what it’s like as moms – especially new moms – it can be easy to neglect our own physical and mental health during the hustle and bustle of pregnancy, delivery, and life with a newborn.

Sound relatable?

That’s probably because once our babies are with us, they become our top priority.

And rightfully so – babies’ needs are so important to their wellbeing and healthy development.

But so are ours, mama!

Luckily, there’s room for both. We can care for our babies AND for ourselves without adding inconveniences or excessive self-care routines into our schedule.

Honest Just Gets It

Postpartum care is crucial, and that’s because our bodies are going through changes that can have a big impact on how we feel mentally and physically.

Taking time to comfort our bodies and care for our skin after delivery is manageable, especially with the right products.

Not only do I love these new products, but I know you will too.

Because they’re easy to use, contain clean, natural ingredients, and make it so easy to care for yourself even in the midst of sleepless nights, diaper changes, and the ever-present mom fatigue.

Honest celebrates motherhood and all of the badass changes that our bodies go through, and I can’t help but feel appreciated every time I use products from this line.

My Honest Postpartum Self-Care Routine

Look, as long as we’re being honest, I honestly don’t have time for hour-long baths, DIY cucumber facials, or trips to the nail salon.

Time-consuming self-care tasks like these ones just aren’t feasible for me in the weeks and months after giving birth.

But that’s okay because there are much easier ways I can tend to my body – including my bump/used-to-be-bump – from the comfort of my bathroom or even my bed before going to sleep.

Here’s what my Honest postpartum self-care routine looks like:

postpartum self care

Clean Curves Cleaning Oil

I use this delicious-smelling cleansing oil in the shower and it turns my bathroom into a spa, if only for a few minutes.

It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and reminds me to check in with my body while I lather.

Glow On Body Cream

Made with shea butter and avocado oil, this body cream is perfect for toning and firming up some of the skin that we can feel most self-conscious about.

It’s great for bump skin and butt skin, my two favorite areas to nurture most.

Glow On Body Oil

Name a better duo! I use this after using the body cream to give my bump (or used-to-be-bump) some extra love and care. It leaves my skin feeling nourished and helps me avoid any dryness or itchiness.

Calm Your Nip Balm

The final step in my routine deserves a standing ovation.

This nipple cream is such a gift!

Whether your nipples are feeling sore, chapped, or uncomfortable before or after breastfeeding.

And even if you aren’t breastfeeding, like myself with baby Noah, this nip balm is the answer to my prayers.

This post was all about postpartum self care.

It’s always an honor to partner with Honest because I can tell that they put just as much love into their products as we do in caring for our babies.

They value and support moms throughout every step of the motherhood journey in ways that make it easy for us to love on ourselves and appreciate all that our bodies can do.

Honest products are always made with minimal and safe ingredients designed to give your #MomBod the extra love it deserves.

My Story

DYEM is for the not-so-perfect, spit-up-stained, smile-through-anything moms out there looking for sanity. Motherhood is messy and full of mistakes. You'll find plenty of that here.
